What is MetaTrader 5?

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is the next-generation trading platform from MetaQuotes, offering multi-asset trading capabilities beyond forex. Exness MT5 allows Pakistani traders to access forex, stocks, indices, commodities, and cryptocurrencies from a single platform.

This independent guide covers how to access Exness MT5. MT5 includes an economic calendar, depth of market, more timeframes, additional order types, and an improved strategy tester compared to MT4.

Download Exness MT5

Pakistani users can download MT5 for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS from the official Exness website. The MT5 web terminal is also available for browser-based trading without installation. Download links are in your Personal Area.

Desktop MT5 provides the most complete feature set including multi-threaded strategy testing and advanced charting. Mobile MT5 lets you trade and monitor positions from anywhere with internet connectivity.

Login to Exness MT5

To log in to Exness MT5, open the platform and select your Exness MT5 server from the list. Enter your MT5 trading account number and trading password. MT5 uses different servers than MT4, so ensure you select the correct server type.

If your server is not visible, click 'Add new broker' and type 'Exness' to find the server list. MT5 credentials are separate from MT4 credentials. Your Personal Area shows which accounts are MT4 and which are MT5.

Multi-Asset Trading on MT5

Unlike MT4 which focuses primarily on forex, MT5 supports a broader range of asset classes. Pakistani traders can trade forex pairs, stock CFDs, index CFDs, commodity CFDs (gold, oil), and cryptocurrency CFDs all within the same platform.

The MT5 Market Watch window displays all available symbols with real-time bid and ask prices. You can create custom symbol lists and use the search function to quickly find instruments you want to trade.

Advanced Charting & Timeframes

MetaTrader 5 offers 21 timeframes (compared to MT4's 9), including 2-minute, 8-hour, and 12-hour charts that are not available in MT4. This gives Pakistani traders more granular control over technical analysis.

MT5 charts support unlimited objects, more indicator instances per chart, and an improved object management system. The chart interface is more modern and customizable than MT4 while maintaining the same familiar workflow.

Built-In Economic Calendar

MT5 includes a built-in economic calendar that displays upcoming economic events, news releases, and their expected market impact. Pakistani traders can plan around high-impact events like central bank decisions, employment reports, and GDP announcements.

Each event shows the affected currency, previous value, forecast, and actual result when released. This helps traders make informed decisions about when to enter or exit positions around volatile news events.

Mobile MT5 Access

The MetaTrader 5 mobile app for Android and iOS provides full trading functionality including charting, technical indicators, and order management. Pakistani traders can monitor and manage positions from their smartphones and tablets.

Mobile MT5 supports push notifications for trade execution, price alerts, and margin calls. The interface is optimized for touch input while preserving the core functionality of the desktop platform.
